Description
The Tillman Lab in the Division of Vascular Surgery at The Ohio State University Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow for a two-year position in Columbus, Ohio. Our lab focuses on translational research at the intersection of surgery and bioengineering. We investigate the innovative use of retrievable stentgrafts to model vascular disease, treat traumatic vascular injuries, and achieve focused drug delivery, especially as related to restenosis and aortic aneurysm pathologies.
This position is an exceptional opportunity for a senior medical student or surgical resident seeking dedicated research time prior to or during vascular residency or fellowship. For appropriate candidates, experience in physiologic monitoring, imaging, endovascular and open vascular surgery will be acquired. Past trainees have had abundant opportunities for first-author manuscripts and podium presentations at major national surgical conferences. Prior surgical experience with animal models is highly desirable but not required. The ideal candidate must have experience in microscopy, surgical tissue, standard molecular assays, flow cytometry and/or RNA analysis. Qualified candidates with a PhD in a related field will also be considered.
Interested applicants should forward a CV to Bryan Tillman, MD, PhD, Professor of Surgery. email: [email protected]
